I was born in Gorleston on sea, Great Yarmouth and from the age of eight was introduced to the world of variety by my mother.

The Britannia Pier, the Wellington Pier, The Aquarium (later The Royalty), The Windmill, the ABC Regal theatres, all played host to these stars who performed twice nightly except Sunday throughout the summer season.

Sadly due to overseas holidays these shows became fewer and fewer over the years and the theatres closed or were knocked down.

The only remaining pier theatre in Great Yarmouth is The Britannia Pier, which presents one nighters throughout the summer w hile the Gorleston Pavilion and the Hippodrome Circus continue to flourish.

St.George's Theatre has re-opened after refurbishment and has a variety of concerts, shows and musical evenings.

I wanted to re-visit the twice nightly show with a twist and return in time to some of the happiest days of my youth.

Take the journey with me and return to a less stressful world, where mobiles, computers and electronic books were something that were only talked about on Tomorrow's World.
